Youth | Ages 6-12

 

The Geneva Lakes Family YMCA is pleased to offer a variety of youth programs during the fall, winter and spring.  In the summer, several different summer camps are offered.

 Spring I: Feb 24-Apr 12 | Spring II: Apr 13-May 31

Stem Creations (Ages 7-12yrs)

Feb 24 | 5:30-7pm
Be your own inventor.  You will receive a STEM challenge and supplies.  Your mission: Create your own solution!  Light snacks included.

Jr Bake Off (Ages 7-12yrs)

March 7 | 9:30-11am
Compete in this fun, hands-on baking cook off!  Participants will sample each other's treat to select the winner of the Y's 1st Bake Off!

Let's Play Cards (Ages 7-12)

April 13 | 5:30-7pm
Calling all card players!  Learn some new games while playing with your peers.  Light snacks included.

Beginner Tumbling (Ages 6-12 yrs) 

***Both beginner and advanced will meet at 6 pm on 1st day of session to be evaluated and placed in appropriate class.

Wednesdays: 6-7 pm
This fun class will increase your child’s agility, balance, strength and coordination, while developing skills in forward/back rolls, straddle rolls, bridges, cartwheels, handstand holds, handstand /forward roll combination, stationary round offs and basic walking styles on the balance beam.
Spring I Fee: Members: $30 | Community: $48 (No class March 26)
Spring II Fee: Members: $35 | Community: $56

Intermediate Tumbling (Ages 6-12 yrs)   

***Both beginner and advanced will meet at 6 pm on 1st day of session to be evaluated and placed in appropriate class.

Wednesdays: 7-8 pm
This class will work to improve upon previously learned and practiced skills and agility in forward/back rolls, straddle rolls, bridges, cartwheels, handstand holds, handstand /forward roll combination, stationary round offs and movements on the balance beam.

Youth Rock Climbing Club (Ages 8-17 yrs)

Saturdays: 10-10:45 am
Get your climb on! This club provides instructional climbing and full body workout. Focus is teaching safety, teamwork, muscle strengthening, communication skills, problem solving with climbing games and endurance.
Spring I Fee: Member: $30 | Community: $48 (No class 4/11)
Spring II Fee: Member: $30 | Community: $48 (No class 5/23) 

Karate: (Ages 7 yrs.-Adult)

Mondays: 7-8:30 pm OR Fridays 6-7:30 pm
A self-defense based system designed to give students quick and simple techniques for protecting themselves and others.  Classes are developed for kids, adults and families; it’s a great activity to do together.   Focus is basic martial arts skills and concepts including awareness, balance, form, power, confidence, character and self-discipline.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Parent's Night Out! | Mar 13 | 5-7:30 pm
Leave the kids with us for a night of fun.  Caring Y staff will ensure your kids are happily engaged in fun activities and a movie while you are away.  Pizza included.

Underwater Egg Hunt! | April 4 | 11 am-12:30 pm
Find EGGstra fun in the pool!  Grab your suit and join us for an egg hunt unlike any other.  After the hunt, families are welcome to stay for a special treat and craft.
Fee: Member: $Free | Community: Day Pass

YMCA Night at the Waterpark | April 26 | 12-8 pm
Enjoy a day at Timber Ridge Waterpark for a reduced rate of $15/per person (ages 12 months and older)  Members and Community members can purchase tickets at the YMCA by Friday, Jan 10.  (Cash only)

 

Credit | Refund Policy
Programs/service dates that land on holidays, are cancelled for inclement weather or conflicts with school district calendars are not refundable and do not qualify for a credit. Programs lacking in sufficient enrollment may be cancelled. If this happens you may transfer to different class/program, receive a system credit or receive a refund. The Y reserves the right to change program times or locations if the situation arrives. If you need to withdraw from a program/service before it starts we are happy to issue a system credit, refunds are not given. If you need to withdraw from a program after it starts, you can receive a prorated system credit for classes attended. All memberships are non-transferable and not subject to refunds.
