The YMCA is a place where you can improve your health and well-being by challenging yourself to learn a new skill, enroll in a fitness class or create a workout that is beneficial for you.  At the Y, it is not about the activity you choose, as much as it is about the benefits of living healthier on the inside and outside. Our Health & Fitness Department has made getting started as easy as 1-2-3!

 

Schedule your complimentary Fit Start AND/OR Smart Start

What is a Fit Start?
Once you become a member at the YMCA, we encourage you to schedule a Fit Start, which is a 30-minute complimentary consultation with a Personal Trainer. During this Fit Start, you will also have time to learn about some of the machines, group classes and additional fitness programs. Please complete the Fit Start form below to provide us with some information about yourself.  Once the form is completed and sent, it will automatically go to our Fitness Director. A Personal Trainer will contact you within 5-7 business days to schedule a day and time that is convenient for you based on your availability.

What is a Smart Start?
Once you become a member at the YMCA, you can schedule this in-depth coaching program that consists of three (3)-30 minute sessions with a trainer. Each session includes:

Session 1: Discuss your goals and health history with your trainer. This can be 30 minutes in person visit or 30 minute phone call.

Session 2: Go over the proper form and foundations of strength training in this 30 minute in person session.

Session 3: During this 30-minute in person session, your trainer will design a customized workout plan for you and take you through your first workout.

$120 Value for $90

Sign up for a group fitness class. 
There are many free group fitness classes that are offered with membership. These classes are available for a variety of ages, for all fitness levels and at various times of the day. Classes include both water and land that are sure to strengthen your mind and body! New programs and classes are always being introduced to keep you engaged, healthy and active. 

A workout program that is included with membership includes our selection of Les Mills classes. These classes are taught in person by certified Les Mills trainers and are also available on demand and in virtual formats in our new Flex Studio.  Learn more at:

What ages are allowed in the Wellness Center?

For safety reasons, our Wellness Center is primarily designed for adults and high school age youth.  A free orientation is recommended for all new members.  Ages 9 and under are not allowed in the Wellness Center.  Ages 10-14 may use the cardio equipment upstairs as long as the child is accompanied by an adult ages 18+ at all times who is on a piece of adjacent equipment to the child.

Do you offer 24/7 access to your Wellness Center?

Yes! We are pleased to offer our active adult members ages 18+ with convenient, year-round access to our 24/7 Lake Geneva fitness center only.  Members must apply for 24/7 fitness center access at our Front Desk. Learn more about this process here
