Youth | Ages 6-12

 

The Geneva Lakes Family YMCA is pleased to offer a variety of youth programs during the fall, winter and spring.  In the summer, several different summer camps are also offered.

Summer I: 6/1-7/19 | Summer II:7/20-8/30

Youth Rock Climbing Club (Ages 8-17 yrs)

Saturdays: 10-10:45 am
Get your climb on! This club provides instructional climbing and full body workout. Focus is teaching safety, teamwork, muscle strengthening, communication skills, problem solving with climbing games and endurance.
Summer II Fee: Member: $30 | Community: $48

Karate: (Ages 7 yrs.-Adult)

Mondays: 7-8:30 pm OR Fridays 6-7:30 pm
A self-defense based system designed to give students quick and simple techniques for protecting themselves and others.  Classes are developed for kids, adults and families; it’s a great activity to do together.   Focus is basic martial arts skills and concepts including awareness, balance, form, power, confidence, character and self-discipline

Intermediate Sand Volleyball: (Ages 10-14 yr)

Wednesdays | 5-6 pm
This program emphasizes skill development and teamwork.  Continue developing your skills with serving, setting, passing and hitting while playing in the sand!
Summer II Fee: Members: $30 | Community: $48

Specialty Summer Camps

BABYSITTING CLASS | YMCA | AGES 11+

In this interactive and hands week long class, you will learn a wide range of topics including: who you can babysit, how to stay safe, do’s & don’t, how to stand out so you get more jobs, the best way to handle hard situations, fun activities to keep the children engaged and busy, what is the reasonable to request as compensation and how & when to ask for more.  Certification in CPR/First Aid is included! Bring a disposable lunch each day and a water bottle.

June 15-19 | July 27-31

Weekly Fee:
Member: $125 | Community: $160
If participants register for this class and Jr. Lifeguard Class, a $30 discount will be  applied.

JR. LIFEGUARD CLASS | YMCA | AGES 11-14

This class builds a foundation of knowledge, attitudes and skills for future lifeguards. From in water rescues, equipment use and shadowing lifeguards, participants get a real sense of being on the job.   CPR/First Aid/AED certification will also be available. Bring a disposable lunch, snacks, refillable water bottle, bathing suit and towel each day.

Weekly Fee:
Member: $100 | Community: $128

If participants register for this class and the Babysitting Class, a $30 discount will be applied.

 
 
 
 

 

SPORTS SPECTACULAR CAMP
VETERANS PARK | AGES 10-13

This camp has been created for the young sports enthusiast to improve skills across a variety of sports and perhaps find a new favorite sport!  T-shirt included.

June 22-25 | July 20-23 | August 10-13
9 am-1 pm

Weekly Fee:

Credit | Refund Policy

Programs/service dates that land on holidays, are cancelled for inclement weather or conflicts with school district calendars are not refundable and do not qualify for a credit. Programs lacking in sufficient enrollment may be cancelled. If this happens you may transfer to different class/program, receive a system credit or receive a refund. The Y reserves the right to change program times or locations if the situation arrives. If you need to withdraw from a program/service before it starts we are happy to issue a system credit, refunds are not given. If you need to withdraw from a program after it starts, you can receive a prorated system credit for classes attended. All memberships are non-transferable and not subject to refunds.
