The Geneva Lakes Family YMCA is pleased to announce that Fitness Director Rob Breidenbach was awarded the 2015 Association of YMCA Professionals (AYP) "Rookie of the Year" award for his leadership skills, initiative to succeed and outstanding achievements as a new YMCA program director.
Rob was recognized at the Wisconsin/Upper Peninsula AYP fall conference on Oct. 9 in Oconomowoc. This event was attended by more than 200 regional YMCA professionals and leaders.
Rob joined the YMCA in November 2013. With his leadership, the fitness department has experienced dramatic growth. The Y now offers more than 60 fitness classes each week, and more than 6,500 kids, adults and seniors have participated in those classes so far this year.
“Rob is an expert in his field and is very deserving of this award,” said Mike Kramp, YMCA CEO/executive director. “Thanks to his leadership, innovation and dedication to the YMCA mission, our Y has been more effective than ever before at engaging people of all ages in activities designed to keep them healthy and strong. I look forward to seeing Rob continue to succeed in his Y career and further develop our fitness programs to strengthen our community,” Kramp said.
YMCA fall fitness programs run through Dec. 20. Financial assistance is available to ensure that everyone who desires to participate has the opportunity to do so. For more information or to register for classes, visit GenevaLakesYMCA.org or call the YMCA at 262-248-6211.
