Position Summary
Under the direction of the Senior Youth & Family Director, and in accordance with Association policies, the Child Watch Coordinator is responsible for coordinating day-to-day operations and staff of the Child Watch area, as well as providing a safe and nurturing environment for children. Child Watch hours 7:30 AM to Noon and 4:15 to 7:30PM. The ideal canidate will work at least one shift 5 days weekly.

Essential Functions
Child Watch Coordinator will:
•Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training, observing, and supervising Child Watch staff.
•Represent the department by handling communication with staff and members.
•Plan, assign, and direct work responsibilities within the area.
•Schedule and conduct performance appraisals.
•Prepare staff schedule, assuring sufficient staff coverage during hours of operation. Responsible for shift coverage If anyone from the staff calls off a shift so the Child Watch service is dependable and available to our members.
•Ensure safety and cleanliness of the entire Child Watch area.
•Prepare incident and injury reports as needed. These need to be given to your supervisor upon completion.
•Maintain participant records and other documentation in accordance with department requirements.
•Monitor program billing and ensure customer accounts are kept up to date.
•Develop positive relationships will the staff, members, participants, and children while providing motivational support and guidance.
•Respond to member, participant, and staff needs. Handle complaints in a courteous, patient manner using problem-solving techniques.
•Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the Child Watch area.
•Uphold the core values of the YMCA when working with people within the YMCA facilities and community.
•Work approved schedule by Senior Youth & Family Director.
•All other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications
•Minimum age of 21 years old.
•Four Child Abuse Prevention Courses must be completed before the first shift.
•Upon hire, completion of YMCA-provided CPR and First Aid certifications within 60 days.
•Must clear a background/criminal history check.
•Strong verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills.
•Desire and ability to work with children of all ages.
•May be required to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. in various forms.
•Must have excellent communication skills.
