Description:

Under the supervision and guidance of the School-Age Child Care & Preschool Director, the extended care staff is responsible for the supervision of children and execution of the Y BASE program. This is a school-year position requiring approximately 22.5 hours per week. Star Center AM Care 6:30-8:30 M-F |PM Care 3:30-6 M-F. Under the supervision and guidance of the School-Age Child Care & Preschool Director, the Care Staff is responsible for the supervision of children in our before/after care programs. Locations: Star Center. Position can include School Day Out Camps at the YMCA. Free family YMCA membership for applicants household if hired. 

Requirements:

· Able to be active and work with children from 3 to 12 years old in a fast-paced environment.

· Provide quality programming and serve as a role model to staff and participants.

· Planning and preparation of daily activities to engage children in meaningful learning opportunities.

· Communicate with Elementary School staff with professionalism and respect.

· Adhere to all Geneva Lakes Family YMCA disciplinary policies and communicate with children on a consistent basis regarding all expectations.

· Follow Geneva Lakes Family YMCA and the Elementary School’s emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children. Communicate with the School Site Director and/or School Age Child Care and Camp Director regarding any emergency concerns or situations.

· Maintain a clean and well-organized work and program spaces at all times.

· Perform other duties as deemed necessary.

· Uphold and exemplify the policies and guidelines of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA and the Elementary School at all times.

. Serve as a role model to staff and participants.

. Engage children in meaningful learning opportunities.

. Communicate with parents with professionalism and respect.

. Follow school emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all children.

. Communicate with the Directors regarding any emergency concerns or situations.

Qualifications:

· $200 signing bonus $100 at start date and $100 at end of 2026 school year.

* Minimum age  16 years old.

· Have a sincere interest and ability to comprehend the needs of children to develop positive outcomes.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

· Must complete Presidium Child Abuse Courses prior to start date.

· CPR certification within 30 days of hire.

· Completion of Abusive Head Trauma Prevention course.

· Must pass FBI Print Background check prior to start date.
