Educational Lead | Turtle Creek Elementary

Description:

Under the direction and supervision of the School Age Childcare and Preschool Director and/or School Age Child Care and Preschool Director in accordance with the nature and policies of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA, the Educational Lead is responsible for, supervision and implementation of the YBASE program 6:30AM - until school starts on site at Turtle Creek Elementary-Delavan and possibly School Day Out held at the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA.

Requirements:

  • Identify priorities, plan, develop, supervise and implement the cirriculum program at the site.
  • Manage curriculum planning for the site. Produce lists of supplies and equipment needs.
  • Confer with parents on behavior, health and development of their child. Develop and distribute parent communications and reporting to School Age Childcare and Preschool Director on all disciplinary actions.
  • Serve on-site as a lead staff; make ongoing systematic observations and evaluations of each child.
  • Obtain and update all registrations, contracts, release forms, and emergency forms that pertain to administration of the YBASE program at the site.
  • Maintain required program records such as attendance, daily schedules and rosters.
  • Maintain clean and well-organized work and program spaces at all times.
  • Uphold and exemplify the policies and guidelines of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA at all times.
  • Follow emergency procedures to insure the safety of all children. Communicate with the site coordinator and director regarding any emergency concern or situation.
  • Perform other duties and attend meetings as deemed necessary by the School Age Child Care & Preschool Director and Senior Youth & Family Director.

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent. Experience as a teacher or assistant teacher in a licensed childcare center preferred.
  • Have training or knowledge of Out of School Time, Social and Emotional Learning, and Culturally Responsible Practices.
  • Assist  students in program to help meet literacy targets and district goals.
  • Must possess oral, auditory and written communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults.
  • Must complete and clear a background/criminal history check.
  • Post hire: completion of child abuse prevention and blood borne pathogen courses.
  • Current Adult & Pediatric CPR/AED/First Aid certification preferred, can obtain upon hire.
