Position Summary
Help develop, organize, and implement high-quality youth/adult sports programs and maintain program fields under the direction of the Geneva Lakes Family YMCA’s Sports Director.
Requirements:
Essential Functions
The Sports Coordinator will:
- Ability to provide excellent customer service while working in a very fast-paced environment.
- Directs and supervises program activities to meet YMCA objectives. Helps expand youth sports program within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans.
- Transports and sets up equipment for games and practices. Responsible for making sure fields are maintained, groomed, and ready daily for practices, games, and weekend tournaments.
- Develops and distributes team practice and game schedules; oversees and/or schedules sports officials; develops and distributes sports rules, guidelines, and handbooks.
Distributes team uniforms and awards; coordinates team photographs. - On-site as a supervisor, including weekend tournaments if necessary.
- Assist the Sports Director with the organization of leagues, scheduling refs/games, acquiring volunteer coaches, umpires, and supporting all activities.
- Maintain a professional demeanor.
- Helps plan and facilitate summer youth sport camps.
- Umpires when necessary.
- Reports daily to the Sports Director for assignments.
All other duties assigned.

Qualifications
- Minimum age of 18 years old. Must pass a criminal background check.
- Sports experience preferred, flexible schedule.
- Minimum age of 21 years and must pass a reference and a criminal background check.
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid & AED; Blood borne Pathogens. Must complete Child Abuse Prevention Video Courses before the first day.
