Description:
Join our dynamic team as a Membership Experience Supervisor, where you'll lead the charge in creating memorable, engaging, and seamless experiences for our members. This energetic role combines leadership, customer service excellence, and event management to foster a vibrant community atmosphere. As a key driver of guest satisfaction and operational success, you'll oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure that every member interaction reflects our commitment to exceptional service. Provides new and existing customers with excellent customer service and deliver accurate and current information about YMCA programs, sports and events. Must be outgoing, and become very knowledgeable about and remain up-to-date on all YMCA programs. Must be knowledgeable about fees, schedules, facility amenities, and the Y’s unique role in the community. Serve as a friendly, positive and enthusiastic advocate for the Y and build relationships with members and program participants. As prospective members and program participants inquire about the YMCA activities, this is the first and sometimes only person they will have contact with. This is a very important position in our organization and has direct bearing on customer satisfaction and retention. This position is Monday-Friday 3PM to 8PM, start at 4 PM if needed and scheduled ahead.
Requirements:
- Ability to work with a diverse group of people, accurately at a fast pace and to simultaneously manage multiple priorities. Greet members and guests in a friendly, pleasant manner.
- Provide initial contact and give correct information regarding programs and fees, or refer them to the proper person. Register participants for YMCA classes and programs. Check in members.
- Answer phones, take messages and be sure they get to the right person. Some filing and miscellaneous clerical work. Light cleaning responsibilities.
- Keep apprised of YMCA classes, fees, and changes in programs. Monitor the YMCA facilities and handle all questions and concerns in a courteous, professional manner. Take out garbage and recyclables, sweep/shovel the sidewalks and pick up debris as needed. Secure the building before you leave, including checking rooms, saunas, and locking doors.
- Supervise daily membership operations, ensuring smooth shift management and guest services delivery.
- Lead and motivate a team of staff members, providing guidance, training, and supervision to uphold high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
- Manage event planning and execution within the YMCA environment, coordinating logistics to deliver memorable experiences for members.
- Oversee guest interactions to ensure exceptional service, addressing concerns promptly and professionally. Handle cash transactions accurately during shift changes, including cash handling procedures and balancing registers.
- Prepare detailed reports on membership activities, event outcomes, and operational performance to inform management decisions.
- Maintain a lively yet organized environment by supervising staff schedules, managing resources effectively, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 21 years old
- Key characteristics include being a fast learner, quickly adaptable, energetic, approachable, self-motivated, dependable, and friendly.
- Excellent communication skills are essential. Be a good problem solver, have the ability to follow directions, and find answers.
- Must have a commitment to the mission and cause of the YMCA and uphold its values and ethics. Must be an articulate spokesperson on behalf of the YMCA.
- Typical requirements within 30 days of hire include completion of Child Abuse Prevention; Adult and Pediatric CPR, First Aid & AED.
- 1-2 years customer service or supervisory experience preferred
- Knowledgeable computer skills.

- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and foster a positive work environment. Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction and problem resolution.
- Experience in events management, including planning, coordination, and execution of special functions.
- Familiarity with shift management duties such as cash handling, report writing, and managing guest services.
